About
Jim and Nancy are both retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. Growing up along the 49th parallel, Nancy (Washington State and Alaska) Jim (North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota) and leaving the commercial side of aviation behind they both became Aviation Safety Inspectors for the FAA. Their jobs involved certifying pilots in aircraft from gliders to jets. They also investigated aircraft accidents and pilot violations. The last part of their careers put them behind the desk. Jim as a manager at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City and Nancy as a manager in Washington D.C. (several years of long commutes). They always wanted to see places that aircraft could not land. So now with their sailboat, they visit those out of the way places.
